Wedding Update: What we wore at her Mehendi

I am back again to tell you what happened at the BFF's Mehendi. Mehendi is an important event at weddings and we all know the bride is not complete until her hands are colored. It is really hard to find a good mehendi artist and the brides these days want every thing perfect. At my wedding I was pretty sure of what I wanted, I did not want any design and wanted my mehendi to be simple and traditional like old times. Like wise , My friend was also very sure of what she wanted, She wanted that type of artist who did palki, bride and groom sort of design on her hands and she found the right ones and her mehendi looked spectacular.

Again she wore one of her mother's design. The lehenga and blouse was made out of a fabric with heavy machine embroidery. The dupatta was kinda neon green with mirrors on it. The best part in her entire attire was the floral jewelry. We ordered it from Pelli poola jada and its called bahubali style. she looked absolutely pretty in this Lehenga. Coming to her hair, It was done in a messy fish tail braid.

My opinion : Every one has a sense of style and It differs from everyone else's . I absolutely loved her in this lehenga. The neon colors complimented her skin tone well. She took take of little details about how exactly she wanted her mehendi and managed time beautifully.

What would I do : Every time I think of a lavish mehendi all that comes to my mind is an open decor, floral lehenga/ dhoti saree, floral jewelry and sunglasses. If I had a mehendi like that I would go for a lehenga like her's but not the dupatta and blouse. I personally feel there should be a balance in the outfit and a point of focus. I loved the lehenga so I wouldnt change that but I would go for a simple one color blouse and the same color dupatta making the lehenga hero. In that case the floral jewelry would shine and be the focus.

What I wore: I wore a lehenga designed by another friend. My lehenga is basically simple net lehenga with a plain silk border. The dupatta is a cut work brick colored dupatta and the blouse is fushia pink colored zardosi worked blouse. My hair was a disaster on that day, I wanted a lower side bun but the hairdresser was in a hurry and ruined it. *****. Extra brownie points for my boy who looked totally dapper in my ensemble.

love,
Mounika Roches.
